It's a boy!!!! Clayton Gord Robbie was born on Sunday October 22 at 3:37 am. 7 lbs 10 ounces, 18 3/4 inches. I'll take his birth time as a sign that sleep for the next few years... is out of the question. Elise was a little sad (full on sad tears) she didn't get a sister but she is warming up to the little guy. Amanda hasn't slept in a few days and just had a human exit her body... but apart from that is doing well and is completely in love. And John was super pumped to show Clayton a plane.
This last cheeky picture is Amanda having contractions standing outside the hospital at 1:45am. She walked to the hospital, the third time she has done this. What you don't see above is the ridiculous amount of work she put in to be able to have this picture taken. Clayton was in breech position for quite a while and the Doctors wouldn't deliver a breech baby naturally - we were looking at a scheduled C-section. Those who know Amanda can understand she wasn't about to accept this. So everyday, multiple times a day, Amanda would be doing a series of exercises, lying on an inverted ironing boards and burning moxa sticks near pressure points in order to spin the baby. When many people would have given up she kept at it day after day, week after week. Doctors helped him flip in the end and we were able to have the natural birth we wanted. Those involved acknowledged Amanda's work played a huge part in him being flipped. This woman is a pretty special person. I feel blessed that I get to share the rest of my life with her and our wonderful children.
