John at 1 week

It's been a heck of a first week with John.  So far everything is going as smoothly as hoped but that is probably because we have Meme here to help for a few more days.  Next week we are down to 2 adults for 2 kids and I am sure things will feel a bit more stressful.  John had a great first week.  He's gained 12 ounces since we left the hospital and is far beyond his birth weight now.  I'm not surprised as he is constantly eating.  I wonder where he gets that appetite from...

Dear John, I'm sorry we don't have any boy clothes

With John soaking everything in sight I cam home from work today to John wearing pink Elephants. I know that we no longer live in a "Boys wear blue" gender stereotype kind of world anymore but personally I see him as more of Blue Jay Blue or a Montreal Canadien Red type baby. So I'll be doing a little shopping tomorrow. Here are some pictures from today including a few with our amazing Doula, Fiona, who was there with us for the birth of John.

Welcome home John - 2 and 3 days old

John and Mom came home on Sunday to a very excited big sister. All are doing great. 

John's definitely found his voice. I totally forgot what it was like to be screamed at relentlessly while trying to change a diaper. It's pretty hilarious.  He also seems to have a big appetite as we can't seem to find a diaper big enough to handle all his pee! He soaks every piece of clothing we put on him. No joke.

Elise meets her little brother - John Day 2

When I woke up on Saturday morning I couldn't wait to tell Elise she had a new baby brother! Here are some pictures of their first encounter and John's second day. John is doing great, and so far Elise has only asked Mommy to put the baby down a handful of times.
